Municipal Museum – Vilček Manor House

Vilček Manor House – A Cultural Landmark on a Historic Trade Route The building known as the Vilček Manor House stands directly on a historic trade route that has long connected what is today Slovakia and Poland. Even today, it serves not only as a transit route, but also holds touristic importance for the development of agrotourism, historical heritage exploration, and community events—such as the long-standing tradition of the Martinský Fair in Trstená. The manor is officially designated as a national cultural monument. Originally built as a nobleman’s residence, the structure likely dates back to the second half of the 18th century. One of the vaulted ceilings still bears the inscription 1799. It is one of the oldest and best-preserved historic buildings in the town of Trstená, and notably, the only surviving manor house in the area. Several rooms still feature original stucco vaulted ceilings, with elements typical of Baroque aristocratic architecture. The building was used as a residence until the first half of the 20th century
